Rokee® Customized Crown Gear Coupling With Intermediate Shaft for Customers, Rokee® is a well-known high-quality supplier of couplings and technical services in China.
The drum toothed coupling with intermediate shaft is a high-performance mechanical transmission component designed specifically for long-distance shaft transmission. By combining the innovative intermediate shaft and drum toothed structure, it significantly improves the displacement compensation capability and transmission efficiency of traditional couplings. This type of coupling is particularly suitable for low-speed and heavy-duty working conditions in industries such as metallurgy, mining, and lifting transportation, and can effectively solve transmission problems caused by installation errors or shaft deformation during operation.
The crown gear coupling with intermediate shaft consists of three core components: two shaft sleeve half couplings with external teeth, an intermediate sleeve with internal teeth, and connecting fasteners. The length of the intermediate sleeve can be customized according to the actual shaft spacing requirements, usually designed with 10-15% expansion allowance to accommodate axial displacement. Compared with ordinary couplings, its most prominent feature is the adoption of a drum shaped tooth design - the outer teeth are made into a spherical shape, with the center of the spherical surface located on the gear axis, making the tooth side clearance larger than that of ordinary gears.
The transmission principle is based on the gear meshing mechanism: when the driving shaft rotates, power is transmitted to the driven shaft through the meshing of the outer gear sleeve and the inner teeth of the intermediate sleeve. The presence of the intermediate sleeve enables the coupling to adapt to longer shaft spacing, while the special geometric shape of the drum teeth allows the coupling to maintain an ideal contact state along the tooth width direction even in the presence of angular displacement. This design avoids the edge compression problem of traditional spur gear couplings, distributes contact stress more evenly, and significantly improves torque transmission capacity and service life.
The sealing and lubrication system is a key design element of this type of coupling. The intermediate sleeve usually integrates lubrication channels and a dual sealing structure. High performance models use labyrinth seals combined with high-quality lip seals to ensure long-term maintenance of good lubrication in harsh environments. The lubrication method can be grease lubrication or forced oil circulation lubrication. The latter is recommended for heavy-duty conditions, with a flow rate of 0.5-1L/min per centimeter of tooth width to better cool the tooth surface and extend its service life.
Over the years, with excellent quality, we have been continuously providing many coupling products of various categories and uses complying with multiple standards and a full range of services, from the product selection to final installation and operation, for the industry fields of ferrous metallurgy, nuclear power, gas turbine, wind power, ropeway construction, lifting transportation, general equipment, etc. We strictly comply with quality system requirements and implement the whole process control to become a reliable and trustworthy partner of customers.
