The generator shim pack coupling is a semi-rigid transmission device designed specifically for connecting the generator shaft system.
Structure
Metal flange components: forged from high-strength alloy steel (such as 42CrMo), quenched and tempered to achieve HRC28-32 hardness, ensuring reliable torque transmission
Elastic gasket set: composed of multiple layers of special alloy steel or stainless steel waveform gaskets stacked together, with a single layer thickness usually ranging from 0.2-0.5mm
High strength connection system: 12.9 grade alloy steel bolts with hydraulic fastening device, pre tightening force controlled at 70-80% of the material yield strength
Torque transmission mechanism:
The torque is transmitted through the combined action of frictional force on the flange end face and bolt pre tightening force. When the drive shaft rotates, torque is transmitted to the gasket group through friction on the flange end face, and the gasket undergoes elastic deformation to absorb vibration, while allowing for slight axial/angular displacement (axial ± 1.5mm, angular ± 0.5 °). The specially designed waveform structure maintains rigidity in the twisting direction (with a stiffness coefficient of up to 5000Nm/rad), and has controllable flexibility in the bending direction.
Dynamic compensation capability:
Thermal displacement compensation: can absorb axial expansion caused by temperature difference during generator operation
Vibration attenuation: With a damping ratio of 15-20%, it can reduce shaft vibration by more than 60%
Electrical isolation: The resistance value of the gasket group is greater than 1M Ω, effectively blocking the shaft current (<5mA)
