Tooth shape classification: External teeth are divided into two types: straight teeth and drum teeth. Drum teeth are designed with a spherical surface (the center of the spherical surface is on the gear axis), and the tooth side clearance is 30% -50% larger than that of standard gears, which can compensate for larger angular displacement (up to 1.5 °).
Compensation mechanism: Three dimensional compensation (axial ± 5mm, radial ± 3mm) is achieved through arc-shaped contact on the tooth surface, which increases the compensation capacity by 50% compared to straight tooth couplings and avoids stress concentration caused by edge contact.
Lubrication requirement: During operation, the internal and external teeth slide periodically, requiring forced lubrication (thin oil or grease lubrication) to reduce wear, and the transmission efficiency can reach 99.7%.
