Industrial Toothed Couplings play an important role in many industrial fields due to their unique structure and excellent performance. When selecting and using, reasonable selection and installation maintenance should be carried out according to specific working conditions and requirements.

Industrial Toothed Couplings are mainly composed of internal gear rings, flange half couplings with external teeth (gear shaft sleeves), end caps, and sealing devices. Among them, the external teeth are divided into two types: straight teeth and drum teeth. The small-sized gear coupling end cover and inner gear ring can form a whole.
The Industrial Toothed Coupling utilizes the meshing of inner and outer teeth to achieve the transmission of torque and rotational motion between the two halves of the coupling. It is suitable for connecting the transmission shaft system of two concentric shafts and has a certain compensation performance for the relative displacement of the two shafts. During operation, the torque of the driving shaft is transmitted to the inner gear ring through the outer gear shaft sleeve, which in turn drives the driven shaft to rotate. Due to the meshing between the outer teeth and the inner ring gear, when there is relative displacement between the two shafts, the tooth surfaces of the inner and outer teeth will periodically slide axially relative to each other, thus adapting to a certain displacement compensation.
High torque transmission capability: The gear coupling has a compact structure, high load-bearing capacity, and can transmit large torque, making it suitable for heavy-duty transmission applications.
Good displacement compensation capability: The tooth shape of the outer gear shaft sleeve of the drum shaped gear coupling is drum shaped, which increases the allowable relative offset between the two shafts. The allowable inclination angle can generally reach 1.5 °~2.5 °, and the maximum can reach 6 °, with good angular, radial, and axial displacement compensation capability.
Smooth operation and low noise: The meshing process of the drum shaped teeth is relatively smooth, and compared to other couplings, the noise generated during operation is lower.
Easy installation and maintenance: The structure of the toothed coupling is relatively simple, and the requirements for the alignment of the two shafts during installation are not as strict as those for rigid couplings. At the same time, its sealing device is easy to replace, and the maintenance of internal components is also relatively convenient.
Industrial Toothed Couplings can be divided into spur gear couplings, drum gear couplings, and special drum gear couplings according to the different axial tooth profiles of their outer gear shaft sleeves. Among them, the drum shaped gear coupling is the most widely used.
Industrial Toothed Couplings are commonly used for shaft transmission under low-speed and heavy-duty working conditions, such as metallurgy, mining, lifting and transportation industries. Meanwhile, it is also applicable to industries such as petroleum, chemical, general machinery, and electricity. High precision and dynamically balanced gear couplings can also be used for high-speed transmission, such as shaft transmission in gas turbines.
When installing a toothed coupling, the meshing condition of the coupling teeth should be checked. The contact area along the tooth height should not be less than 50%, and along the tooth width should not be less than 70%. There should be no serious pitting, wear, or cracks on the tooth surface.
The circular runout of the outer gear ring of the coupling shall not exceed 0.03mm, and the circular runout of the end face shall not exceed 0.02mm.
If it is necessary to remove the ring gear, a special tool must be used instead of knocking to avoid bending or damaging the shaft. The interference fit between the outer gear ring and the shaft is generally 0.01~0.03mm.
When reinstalling the intermediate connecting tube or other components, they should be assembled according to the original markings and data.
Use a torque wrench to evenly tighten the bolts.
